A Yorkshire-based healthcare company has marked the anniversary celebrations of its 45th year in business by venturing in the Chinese market.
JRI Orthopaedics has bagged a contract of manufacturing hip replacements implants from its Sheffield manufacturing facility for a medical company based in Beijing to be sold in the Chinese market. Furthermore, as a manufacturer of surgical instruments and orthopaedic implants, JRI is also focusing to register its own hip replacement products for sale in China in the next couple of months and already has its distribution deal in place with Chinese partners.
JRI managing director Keith Jackson said in his latest interview that despite China leading the world in low cost manufacturing, the company is looking forward to capitalize on the lucrative market opportunities in China with aid of their world-class manufacturing capabilities and efficiencies.
China is one of the largest economies in the world and the policy-makers are proactively investing on the health care sector. Likewise, the expectations of patients and their families in China are also increasing and they have exhibited a good appetite for advanced British brands, he said.
Jackson revealed that their Chinese partners believe that offering quality British manufactured products in China market at competitive price will give a significant advantage to JRI, both over their Chinese contemporaries and the U.S.-based multinational companies who are currently selling their products in the hip replacement segment of the exponentially growing market for orthopaedic implants in China.
JRI was founded 45 years ago by Mr. Ronald Furlong, a renowned orthopaedic surgeon. Since then the company has maintained its sole aim to provide patients with a better quality of life by give them best solutions in the industry for joint reconstruction, regeneration, and repair. JRI is also the first healthcare company in the world to use hydroxyapatite ceramic coatings or H-A.C coatings on hip replacements.
