A number of military experts, scientists, and leaders have proposed to produce a new set of hydrogen bombs in the US, stating that the existing weapons in the stockpile are 27 years old, on an average.

John Hamre, the president of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said that the US should relieve itself from existing weapons and build a new set of warhead that the US would test to detonation. The deputy secretary of Defense in the Clinton administration also said that the US has the most terrible nuclear weapons of all worlds.

Military experts claim that they also feel threatened of a nuclear war that might be waged against them by the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Republican Mac Thornberry, chairman-elect of the House Armed Services Committee, while referring to the rusty nuclear complex said that it seems like common sense to him if an aging machine is tried to be kept alive, which is well past its design is treading on thin ice.

The military strategists not only proposed for new nuclear weapons but also for fresh underground tests to be taken for the first time since 1992.

He also said that he will stand in the favor of fresh testing of the nuclear weapons that provide the foundation on which all the national security is based.

The US has a stockpile of 4,804 nuclear weapons as of now. Proposals for a revised nuclear weapon store come after two decades of the US announcing to scale back its nuclear power due to the consequences of the Cold War.
