With the tagline of “You Drink, We drive”, Uber has been a reliable transport service for people around the world. With the aim to become a company with multi-modal transportation, it had announced Uber Rent in April 2018, running smoothly in present day. The success of Uber Rent is now being followed by a new announcement by the CEO Dara Khosrowshahi in San Francisco. Uber, in collaboration with Jump, announced the introduction bikes for rental services.

Travelling is now made easier with an addition of Mode Switch, announced by the company at 2018 TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco in September 2018. This $200 million investment introduced two wheeler into the car rental market and will allow users to choose between four wheelers and two wheelers accordingly.

Jump Bikes and Electric Scooters Making Uber Gain More Popularity

According to the CEO the basic idea of introducing two wheelers, commonly known as Jump bikes, in Uber is to make people prefer Uber over other transport choices. San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Chicago, Denver, Austin, and New York City has already started using bikes on rental basis and is soon to launch electric scooters.

Uber is yet to integrate its app with public transit. The company announced a mobile ticketing platform for public travelling with the aim to allow passengers to book tickets from the Uber app itself. Moreover, it is presumed that Uber will soon add additional transit options in Mode Switch as soon as it is ready for launch.

With all the new advancements for consumer-friendly drive, Uber is gaining popularity among consumers. The road to freedom may best be cherished by sitting in the back seat than driving all the way through the journey.
