The United States president will continue to fly in a U.S.-made plane, based on the announcement made by US Air Force that next presidential aircraft will be created by Boeing. This service was in consultation with the acquisition chief - Frank Kendall, who selected the Boeing 747-8’s design for the program Presidential Airlift Recapitalization.

The Air Force Secretary named Deborah Lee James in an announcement stated that the presidential aircraft is one of the most visible symbols of Unites Statement of America, and also the office of the president of America. James further mentioned that the Boeing model 747-8 is the only aircraft which is produced in the United States of America which when completely missionized and meets the required capabilities which are established to execute the presidential support mission. In addition, it reflects the office of the United States of America’s President consistent with the national public interest.

The president of America is flown in a heavily modified craft Boeing 747-200B. When the president is on board the plane, it is called Air Force One. The selection the Boeing model was not as a shock, which gave the desire that a four engine aircraft should meet the criteria. Furthermore, the other two companies which were realistic offerings for the program - Presidential Airlift Recapitalization were Boeing and Airbus, of which A380 is made in Toulouse based in France. It was always a highly unlikely the service would opt for a European manufactures of aircrafts to shuttle around the president of United States, which was hinted in the statement made by Deborah Lee James.

The selection of Boeing’s model 747-8 serves as a much required boost for Boeing, as the company was slowing production on the larger airliner for many years.
