On Monday, the Taiwan’s second biggest mobile carrier informed that they are planning to cancel the unlimited data plan they provide for its fourth generation mobile network in a span of few months.
James Jeng, company’s president informed CAN that Taiwan Mobile will not be the first local carrier which will end the tremendous ‘all you can eat’ offer for the fourth generation users, as Chunghwa Telecom, the biggest rival has not mentioned any other decision on the sidelines of the country’s Internet Trend seminar.
Jeng further stated that there is a slight chance of experiencing the unlimited fourth generation data packages which will be totally pulled out from the market. He further added that other companies may also plan to put an end to their unlimited cheap plans so that they can order to raise the prices for these packages and can enjoy profits.
James Jeng has given his remarks after a week when a new organization made an entry into Taiwan’s 4G market- Taiwan Star Telecom Corp. The new organization made an announcement on 19th of March that they are going to end the promotional events which had charged them an amount of US$20 (NT$599) for every month for the purpose of unlimited fourth generation data packages which included free call service with country’s Star’s network for a period of two years contract.
Taiwan has three prominent players Taiwan Mobile, Far EasTone Telecommunications, and Chunghwa Telecom who had launched their services of fourth generation in the last few days of may and the start of June in the year 2014.
