Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the brand new EQC on Tuesday, which is an all-electric car crossover scenario. Revealing these plans have proven to be a jumpstart to the German automobile giant’s aim to invest more than USD12 billion, in order to provide the first batch of battery powered models. These vehicles would be included under the new EQ brand launched by Mercedes-Benz.
More Details about the Insanely Attractive and Efficient EQC Plans
According to Daimler AG Chairman and Mercedes-Benz CEO Dieter Zetsche, apart from the EQC crossover and subsequent EQ modelled battery powered vehicles, the German auto-maker also plans to invest another $1.2 billion in global battery production. This is expected to exist as a highly necessary catalyst for production of fuel sources that would be the most crucial for operating the electric cars.
The Mercedes Benz EQC is expected to go on sale in the U.S. in 2020. This car model joins the list of all other luxury models that have been introduced by various companies in recent times, mainly to capture the market back from Tesla.
The Mercedes EQC will be equipped with a new drive system along with compact dual electric drivetrains at each axle. The drivetrains together are designed to generate about 402 horsepower and 562 pound-feet of torque. The Mercedes Benz EQC can travel from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 4.9 seconds. The vehicle’s 80 kilowatt-hour battery has an estimated range of around 200 miles, as per the company’s analysis. The battery has a standard DC fast-charging capability, which can make it reach at an 80% charged level in just 40 minutes.
The EQC will be available in a standard form with 19-inch wheels, LED headlamps having adaptive high-beam assist, a sliding sunroof, and power and memory front seats. The vehicle also will house a new MBUX infotainment system, along with three years of free map updates.
