Lenskart, an online eyewear shopping portal, has announced that it is inventing in Ditto, a U.S. based startup, which creates 3D face model for the retailer’s virtual trial service. The e-commercial major, Lenskart, will be putting US$1 mn for a minority share in Ditto. However, the company has already been applying 3D try-on services of Ditto on its mobile app and website. Further, the integration will aid the company in improving its online engagement with the customers. Ditto is a VC-supported technology enterprise that is enhancing how the best retailers across the world sell eyewear.
Peyush Bansal, the founder and CEO of Lenskart.com, stated that Lenskart as an enterprise has always believed in continuously innovating and utilizing the technology interface to provide its customers with the best in class experience. Its patented 3D virtual try-on services, which permits consumers to see themselves in their chosen eyewear in 180° angles, is powered by Ditto. Thus far, the response to the 3D try-on service is praiseworthy with more than 10,000 trials on a daily basis. “Lenskart has been assessing its relationship with Ditto and now gearing up to take it to another level,” he added.
The 3D try-on service registers the face of the consumer from multiple angles, allowing it to map the face. When the customer virtually tries on a frame, the service allows them to swipe on the image in order to turn the head to the right and the left and get a view of the frame from different angles.
