Technology giant Google and world's largest retail company, Walmart are partnering up to compete with their common rival, Amazon. Amazon is an e-commerce and cloud computing company based in Seattle. The partnership is announced on this Wednesday. During this partnership, products from Walmart will be sold on Google Express. Google Express is an online shopping service started by Google in 2013. This is the first time Walmart is making its goods available online for the first time.

Partnership To End Amazon’s Dominance in E-Commerce Segment

In e-commerce market, Amazon is dominating globally through its large infrastructure, and expanding its services to sustain its dominance. The services it provides such as convenient home delivery, efficiency it provides from browsing to buying, its inventory and the sales it provides periodically are the factors that keeps it above all other shopping options. However, alliance of two giants such as Google and Walmart could affect the market of Amazon. Although, this partnership will have to struggle to remain in the same image as Amazon, but it is certain that they will gain momentum in the market.

On the partnership, both companies said that they are not focused on how shopping is today, but they are looking forward to build an enhanced shopping experience for future. They are expecting that in future, consumers will reorder the products from Walmart by speaking to Google Home. Google Home is a smart speaker that recognizes voices and performs tasks on voice commands. Same type of product is built by Amazon, called Amazon Echo. The initial plan for this partnership is to motivate customers of Walmart to shop through Google's service.
