Design from Indian Apparel Huge Hit in European Markets

Daywear garments inspired by traditional Indian motifs fused with western style are the latest rage in European markets.
The blend of East and West, which is a perfect combination of tradition and modernity in pursuit to create stylish contemporary collection has been flooding the European markets for quite some time.
Seeing the potential of traditional Indian garments to have huge potential in the West, the governments of Scotland and India are in talks to start community college programs aimed to provide employment opportunities, entrepreneurship opportunities in the profitable garment industry.
Leading colleges and Universities in United Kingdom and India will be participating in the program and share their expertise and knowledge in apparel and fashion design.
A panel of members from Glasgow Kelvin College in Scotland, which is visiting Government Polytechnic College for Women, said that contemporary Indian clothing designs are very much in demand in European markets.
The leader of the visiting faculty also said, the apparel industry is witnessing a boom. The demand for contemporary Indian fashion is all time high in Europe. The leader of the visiting team also said, the focus is to modernize the paisley print using bright acid colors and to give the print a fresh look.
The visiting team also witnessed some bleaching and dying techniques which were demonstrated at the fashion lab by Head of Garment Technology who is also the Coordinator of Community College. With the use of a plain white cloth, the Coordinator explained the techniques.
The leader of the visiting team also said that the trip has been a great learning experience for them. It is highly enriching for the team to get a chance to meet new people in India. The Indian faculty will be visiting Glasgow Kelvin College in September.
