AMD has finally revealed it latest offering in hardware, the new and highly anticipated member in the Vega family of GPU architecture. The new Radeon Vega Frontier Edition is set to be the first graphics card in the world that is designed to enable the upcoming wave of data researchers and scientists, along with visualization professionals and game developers.
How Fast is the New GPU?
The new Vega architecture is expected to offer a rendering performance of an astounding 172 percent faster than its nearest competitor. The Radeon Vega Frontier Edition is all ready to take on the extremely complex datasets of today, thanks to the expansions on Vega’s cornerstone HBM2 GPU architecture. Through its new disruptive High Bandwidth Cache Controller, the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition can expand its capacity from traditional memories, to the new 256 TB. According to the DeepBench benchmark tests, the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition ended up at a speed 33 percent faster than any of its current competitors. The benchmark measured the performance of its basic operations with reference to deep neural network training.
A GPU for Visionaries and Trailblazers
As stated by Ogi Brkic, the general manager and senior director for Radeon Pro Business series at AMD, the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition has been dedicated to all the visionaries and trailblazers who wish to tackle new technologies and take their industrial efforts to the next level, consequently bringing mankind closer to solving its greatest issues. Falcon Northwest president, Kelt Reeves, stated that AMD has performed remarkably in its design for the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition.
