Westdale to Witness New Constructions

Construction of the new US Bank branch began at Westdale. This building will be the first of the new buildings to begin its construction in the $90 million worth redevelopment projects by Ceder Rapids.
Vice President of Retail at Frew Development Group and the General Manager of Westdale, Lisa Rowe mentioned that the body is ready to spearhead additional constructions in the next couple of months, which include the construction of a 500 square foot Chick-fill-A restaurant, a multi tenant building of 12,000 square foot, exterior and interior renovations of the JCPenney building.
Rowe said in one of her latest interviews that the beginning of the construction at Westdale of the first new building will make an important milestone. She added that every since the project was started the residents of the community was keen to see the vertical construction.
The construction of the new building for U.S. bank at Westdale began on February 9th and they expect to wrap up the construction soon so that the bank starts is operation from summer this year. The new bank building is located at the second pad site which lies in the north of the South Edgewood Road SW entrance.
F&M Bank of Manchester acquired the U.S. bank building located at 2350 Edgewood Rd. SW on October 2010. This is said to be the reason behind the relocation of the building to Westdale. Prior to this F&M Bank had its offices in the downtown and northeast Cedar Rapids. The U.S. bank branch at Westdale will start its operations in November this year.
The construction of Chick-fill-A restaurant will begin on 6th April, as told by Rowe. The restaurant will be the new free standing joint in the region. It is slated to be located at the first pad site to the north of the south Edgewood Road SW.
