South Africa Tourism Counts on Indian Travelers

The tourism board of South Africa has already kicked off the promotional activities for the 2015 road show to be held in the Indian city of Bengaluru. 

The road show that will be held in Bengaluru will have first time participants such as Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, Franschhoek Wine Valley, Cango Wildlife Ranch, Turnberry Boutique Hotel, Double Tree by Hilton Cape Town, Gary Kirsten Travel and Tours, and Paarl and Wellington Tourism. Other popular suppliers from South Africa who will be returning to participate in this year’s road show include Tsogo Sun, Extraordinary, Sun International, and &Beyond. 

The country manager of South African Tourism Hanneli Slabber said that the board was completely overwhelmed by the incredible response received from the three Indian cities of Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. India is an emerging market that has achieved speedy and strategic growth when it comes to outbound travel. The outlook as well as preferences of Indian travelers has evolved over time and the South African tourism board wants to make the most of this trend. The tourism board is planning to steer its focus on the Indian market with the help of considerable marketing budgets. Apart from this, many bespoke campaigns will also be undertaken by the tourism department in order to reach out the various consumer segments in India. 

Identifying, examining, and citing the significance of the Indian market, some of the suppliers in South Africa have ended up establishing permanent offices as well as representations so that they can upsurge their businesses from India itself. 

After the road show in Bengaluru, the South African Tourism will move the 63 member South African delegation to the national capital, New Delhi. 

The road show, consisting of more than 460 Indian travel agents also traveled to Mumbai and Ahmedabad earlier this month and held events in both cities.
