During the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery fires fallout, Samsung had said that Note 8 will be out in 2017. However, the question as to when in 2017 remained unsolved. Announcing the device too early will do Samsung no good as consumers will focus will be on the launch of Apple’s iPhone 8. Announcing the Note 8 too late will cause the unrestrained domination of Apple’s new phone across digital columns as there will be no stopping of the reviews of iPhone 8 when released. Samsung Mobile’s DJ Koh announced in a meeting at Taiwan that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be launched by the end of August. The phablet will go on sales in two waves starting this September. The phablet will be released in the first wave of launch markets in the beginning of September and the other markets will need to wait till October.
The end of August as suggested by Samsung for being the period when Galaxy Note 8 releases, goes perfectly well with the event of this company on 23rd August at New York. While it is actually later than the launch of Note 7 last year, many wrongly believe that Samsung is announcing early. The release of Note 8 on 23rd August 2017 will give this South Korean company enough time before Apple’s launch of iPhone 8, which is scheduled for early September. This enables Samsung to buy enough time for getting the phablet to selected reviewers before the IFA event at Berlin when the tech press across the globe will be there to examine latest consumer electronics.
