The smartphone market in China is reaching saturation. The demand for smartphone in China has slowed down. On the other hand, its neighboring country, India is experiencing a high growth in the demand for smartphones. In India, the demand for affordable and low end smartphones is on the rise.
India represented over a quarter of the global feature phone market in the year 2013. More than 200 million feature phones priced below a hundred dollar were shipped to India as compared to the 70 million feature phones that were shipped to China. This shows the vast potential of the Indian smartphone market. Several brands from the world are launching low-end, affordable smartphones in India due the high demand and the rising number of smartphone users in the country.
