Demag Unveils New Plant in China

Sumitomo (SHI) Demag, the plastics processing equipment maker has officially unveiled the new facility Demag Plastics Machinery, China.
The plant with an area of 27,000 square meter and which employs 200 workers, and presently makes Systec C hydraulic molding machines for injection having clamping forces from 500 to 10,000 Kn.
The turnkey and automation systems are being used to engineer hand in hand that have system partners such as MAI, Sepro, or Kebo, as stated by Demag.
The site of the project is stated to have logistics unit and accommodation production. It will comprise logistics facilities and accommodation production and will also provide an area of about 13,000 square meters and additional area of 1400 square meters for the purpose of administration floor space.
A new production facility that has significantly higher rate of output is on stream. This was announced by Gerd Liebig, the chief sales officer.
The plant is expected to have a production capacity as much as 1500 machines for every year. When Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Schwaig opened its facility in Ningbo in 1998, it was the first company to have production for the first injection molding company that is deliberately installing a production site in China. This was stated Gerd Liebig, the chief sales officer.
The company that is cited to have an installed capacity of more than 40,000 machines, China is and will remain the largest market for injection molding machines. The chief sales officer further started that the investment for the new facility is the beginning of a new era of growth.
He further added that the objective of the company is strategic enhancement of its product portfolio, and further a high measure of application specific support that is needed by the customers.
