Apple’s latest smartphone releases, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are scheduled to reach the Chinese markets on September 26. Confirmation for received shipments by local telecom companies signals that they are ready to launch the phones when the date arrives.
Chunghwa Telecom, Far EasTone Telecommunications Co., Taiwan Mobile Co., and Taiwan Star Telecom Corp. will be using a combination of 1,600 stores to distribute the new phones.
The top firms have already initiated training programs to get their customer service representatives acquainted with the two new iPhones.
Representatives of Far EasTone Telecom have mentioned that the company has begun a three-day training session across the island to get its employees familiarized with the iOS 8 and all its related applications.
The iPhone 5 was released last year and was met with an inventory shortage in Taiwan. Only 56% of the pre-orders got completed. Officials concerned are optimistic about this year’s release, saying that the current planned inventory is enough to complete 90% of the pre-orders.
More than 400 storefronts will be selling the iPhone 6 on behalf of CHT after the company authorized Senao International to be its iPhone 6 distributor. CHT has already given notice to the customers who had pre-ordered their iPhone 6 to pick up their new phone on September 26. The pre-order will be cancelled if the phone is not picked up within three days.
CHT has an estimated 11 million customer base, and Taiwan Mobile following suit with 7.48 million users. Far EasTone has 7.37 million users while Taiwan Star has 1.8 million users.
