Tesla, the popular American brand for electric cars will soon be working in close collaboration with a property developer of Hong Kong. The main rationale of the collaborative efforts will be towards building greater number of charging poles in shopping malls located in close to six major cities in China.

Tesla has agreed on developing public charging points in the shopping malls that are operated and managed by the popular Hang Lung Properties operating in Shenyang, Jinan, Dalian, Tianjin, Shanghai, and also Wuxi. In addition to these charging poles, the American electric car manufacturer will be building supercharging stations in the customers’ homes.

A senior official at Tesla China stated that Tesla Motors, U.S. is hoping that it will be able to provide convenient and effective charging services to the Chinese customers with a view towards encouraging people to start loving the company’s vehicles. On the 25th of June, Tesla also declared that the company will also be setting up 7 supercharging networks in some of the busiest cities and some of the most popular tourist destinations of China.

This will take place during the 2nd half of 2015. Some of the newest charging stations would be situated close by to the Yangtze River Delta, in the region of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and also at the East China’s Mount Huangshan, which has been listed as a World Natural Heritage location by the UNESCO. Tesla has established the second biggest charging network following the U.S. that boasts of having established more than a hundred supercharging stations.

The American market has also successfully established greater than 1400 fully operational public charging poles in different parts of China. Solar energy and grid electricity powered Tesla superchargers have the capacity to charge the Tesla Model S within minutes.
