According to the Vice President of Energy Foundry,Jeremy Adelmen, “Clean tech” company is one that utilizes technology in order to achieve lower environmental impact and higher energy efficiency.

Today, there are about 15 co-working companies based in Chicago and across from Chicago’s Millennium Park the new co-working space is simply astonishing. It is equipped with hardwood floors, bright area carpets, modern couches, big windows with revealing glass doorsto let the natural light break in, walls built well before they reach the penthouse ceiling, and a kitchen, a large long conference table, and a lounge area for everyone to use.

David Rotbard, the co-founder of Coalition Space and the Micro Office Solutions says Chicago’s co-working community is the first co-working space that is totally dedicated to the concept of the clean technology industry. The company was officially launched on Thursday and Coalition and Energy Foundry is partnered together to build a co-working space especially for clean technology and serve the entrepreneurial companies. Their collaboration has turned the idea for the clean technology into a reality.Rotbard said the partnership has been great to work with helping us further develop the micro-cluster of clean tech business within the state of Chicago.

Consequently, the working number has increased from 600 in 2010 to a figure of 2,500 up till March of 2013, according to the data recorded by Deskmag.

The co-working spaces are a huge success in today’s industry because people belonging to the same industry come together under one roof to collaborate and share introductions, customer relationships, and different resources, said Jason Blumberg – the CEO of Energy Foundry. This aspect significantly enhances the success and likelihood of business.

Also, Root3 Technologies experience with Chicago-based energy startup and the Coalition has been absolutely marvelous by far, said Archie Gupta – the CEO of Root3 Technologies.

Nevertheless, there is a downside to this newest workspace environment concept. According to a Deskmag article composed by Genevieve DeGuzman, plenty of distractions and little privacy come in these types of co-working spaces. Even the co-working advocates are not used to the distractions that come from the flow of people in these kinds of spaces. However, records state that Coalition was 60 percent full as of Thursday, and they hope to continue to fill more spaces very soon.
