Carina Lau, Hong Kong Actress Launches Her Online Wine Store on Alibaba’s Tmall

Apart from being a popular movie star, Carina Lau has also made her presence felt as one of the leading business women in China. Her business ventures have been appreciated by her colleagues in the film fraternity. To add another feather to her cap of achievements, the actress has launched her online brand of champagne and wine. The brand is available on Chinese retailer Tmall. The announcement Carina Lau expanding her business empire from fashion, jewelry, and cosmetics to alcoholic beverages was made on Thursday. 

Tmall is the largest ecommerce platform in China for retail stores. It is run and operated by the Chinese ecommerce giant Alibaba. 

Lau also maintains an account with Sina Weibo, which is the largest microblogging platform in the country. In her Sina Weibo account, Lau had mentioned earlier that she has spent her day meeting the leading players of the industry at Vinexpo, which is also renowned as one of the biggest spirits and wine fairs in the world. 

In the last couple of days, there are reports about the actress visiting two of the most flourishing vineyards of the country. Carina Lau has given an account of the efforts she dedicated to bring the new offering to customers in a commercial that she posted on site to promote her new online venture. 

Carina Lau, 49, registered her ecommerce company by the name of Carina International Ecommerce in Hong Kong almost three months ago. Her wine will be available on the online ecommerce site Tmall from Thursday. The wine is priced between 59 to 298 yuan for a bottle. The actress revealed that it is a conscious decision taken on her part to keep the price of wine low at least for the first few months. The decision has been taken with the intent of attracting more traffic, and to ensure that the brand is widely accessible across China.
