The global market for homeopathic products is already eating quite a bit into the share of allopathic treatments. The entire bundle of numerous alternative medical treatments are finding their way into the lives of a lot of people from all parts of the world. While many of these treatments originated from Asia – including yoga, Tai Chi, acupressure, acupuncture, and homeopathy – their impact on the lives of those in North America and Europe was minimal before the past decade. However, factors such as globalization and the internet have given birth to the possibilities of homeopathic product manufacturers expanding their distribution chains to overseas markets.

One of the biggest reasons for the proliferation of homeopathic products into developed nations is the growing number of people who either cannot afford allopathic treatments due to lack of insurance coverage, or those who are practically tired of dealing with the range of side-effects that come with them. The latter especially is a large demographic of middle class and above members of the society with a growing amount of income at their disposal. Additionally, as mentioned above, the growing amount of interactions and research material available over the internet is helping these patients look for ways to deal with their conditions in a more comfortable manner.

Comfort is a key word that lies in favor of the providers of alternative medicine, especially the makers of homeopathic products. The availability of a large number of treatments and procedures that are aimed at calming the mind and relaxing the body are making it extremely appealing for more people to go towards alternative medicine. The U.S. along had already spent over US$30 bn on alternative medicines in 2012, and this number is expected to increase even further!

There are tons of papers, articles, research reports advocating the advantages of alternative medicine, just as there are several of the same advocating against them. In either case, the number of people who are putting their faith in alternative medicine is growing by the year.
