Alibaba Group Makes Investments in Mei.com

The largest online retailer in China, Alibaba Group Holding Limited made an announcement about investing in Mei.com, which is the largest flash sales platform in China for fashion and products. The collaboration will boost the supply chain services of Mei.com, which offers discounted quality products from leading international fashion brands for limited time.

On account of this investment, Alibaba will be enabled to consolidate resources from Tmall.com, which is the group’s B2C platform and also the largest third-party platform in China for consumer goods brands and retailers to create special services to assist Mei.com.

The cooperation will support development for Mei.com and aid them to increase user base, logistic and IT infrastructure services, and brand cooperation base. The close cooperation that Mei.com enjoys with a large selection of luxury brands will supplement Tmall.com’s range of affordable luxury goods available for Chinese consumers.

The CEO of Alibaba commented, that the company’s ecosystem and the services offered at multi-levels across platforms will be boosted with the cooperation that will materialize with Mei.com. The CEO further added, that Mei.com will make efforts in order to create synergy with Tmall, with the aim to offer premium luxury goods to consumers.

Simultaneously, Alibaba will assist Mei.com and other partner brands to enter its ecosystem, which will enable enhanced efficiency to locate prospective consumer groups, carry brand marketing, and create an online supply chain process.
