There is speculation, though if the vehicle will be manufactured in China as price is a big consideration for the debut of the automobile in the market. It is quite likely the production of GLC Coupe will happen in the same facility as C-Class sedan, a joint venture between Benz-Beijing. The production is expected to be launched by 2016.
At the technical specifications end, the Concept GLC Coupe has a twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter V6 with 520 newton meters and 367 horses. The vehicle also boasts of “9G-Tronic” which is an automatic gearbox mated to the twin-turbocharger and sends power to all the four wheels. It takes only 4.9 seconds for the engine to warp the coupe from 0 to 100.
The plans are to use the engine for the future launches such as ‘Mercedes AMG GLC 63 Coupe’, which is going to be the fastest type in the series. The other engines are expected to use 2.0 at various stages and diesel variants.
